Ipswich seem to be building a bit of name for themselves when it comes developing young talent. After selling Connor Wickham to Sunderland for £15 million, Ipswich must now decide whether to cash in on another of their young attacking stars.
Irishman Carel Tofiak is the player in question (if you’re thinking that’s not a very Irish name, Tofiak is Cameroonian born). At just 17 the player has made a name for himself in East Anglia after strong performances for the youth team this season. Wenger’s scouts were seen by the Daily Mail watching Tofiak during a recent Ipswich under-18 game.
Tofiak is just 17, and can play as a striker or on the wings. Wenger will hope this is another young diamond he has discovered, although at this stage it is too soon to tell. However, the Mail reports other clubs are also interested and Ipswich may not allow the player to leave easily.
Ipswich may hope that even if they sell the player, he may end up back on loan to them soon as it’s unlikely the player will make an impact on the Arsenal squad for some time to come.
