Arsenal scouts spotted watching Orkun Kokcu in action

Arsenal are thought to be keeping tabs on an exciting player who has been dubbed as a ‘wonderkid’.

According to a report by The Daily Mail, the Gunners watched Orkun Kokcu in action on Sunday when he made his debut for the Feyenoord senior side.

The 17-year-old appeared to justify the ‘wonderkid’ status with an impressive performance for the Dutch side at the weekend when he came off the substitutes bench to score and provide an assist for the winner.

However, Unai Emery’s side are not thought to be the only European giant to be interested in Kokcu, with a number of clubs thought to have been monitoring the teenage sensation.

Borussia Dortmund and PSV Eindhoven had scouts in attendance on Sunday, whilst the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain have all been credited with keeping tabs on Holland Under-19.

The Verdict:

Having netted 17 goals and 34 assists for the Feyenoord Under-19 side last season, it comes as no real surprise that Kokcu has a number of Europe’s biggest sides interested in him.

Arsenal already have a number of talented youngsters at the academy and in the developmental side so there is no doubt that the 17-year-old could thrive at the Emirates Stadium should he choose to join them.

However, with the calibre of the clubs thought to be interested in him, it could be a very difficult battle for the Gunners to try and win.
