Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are in an optimistic mood today, as they sink a few pints to welcome in the new week and discuss the latest transfer reports.
They’ve been alerted to one potentially exciting deal but it’s bad news, as Fichajes state the Gunners made an offer to Ezequiel Lavezzi but the Argentine rejected the approach.
30-year-old Lavezzi looks set to leave Paris Saint-Germain in 2016 after his playing opportunity was drastically reduced this season following the arrival of Angel Di Maria in the summer.
Premier League clubs were keen on the winger, including Liverpool, but the player is keen on a return to Italian football and his agent is currently in Rome negotiating a deal.
Arsenal fans in the bar want more forward options at their club but were never quite convinced as to whether Lavezzi is the man, stating he wouldn’t get into their first-team and would be unlikely to want to sit on the bench in North London.
