Arsenal seriously considering move to bring 38-year-old in to replace Arsene Wenger

The Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are slowly being converted to the Arsene Wenger-Out brigade…

Arsenal have suffered a relatively disappointing start to the Premier League season, with an opening day defeat to Liverpool seemingly setting the tone for the campaign ahead.

As a result, the Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have started to turn their heads, with tension slowly rising amongst the Gunners faithful.

In particular, the focus has been placed on Arsene Wenger himself, with the anti-Wenger chants slowly starting to gain traction and increase in volume here in the Tavern.

Now, seemingly after years of Arsenal fan frustration – it appears that the Arsenal brass themselves are starting to look towards life after Arsene Wenger.

The Frenchman’s Arsenal contract runs out at the end of the season, and with seemingly no talks regarding a new deal currently ongoing – could someone come in and replace the Frenchman?

It appears that that could definitely be the case, with The Sun reporting that Arsenal are lining up a Wenger replacement ahead of next season.

Their report states that Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is currently being discussed amongst the key figures behind the scenes at Arsenal, with a view to bringing in the young Englishman as a replacement for Wenger Рshould the Frenchman not continue for a further year.

Despite his inexperience, the news was greeted with cheers amongst the Arsenal faithful here in the Football Transfer Tavern.

Howe has garnered quite the reputation amongst the punters in the Tavern, with Howe’s success with Bournemouth turning more than a few heads.

Howe has overseen Bournemouth meteoric rise from the lower-tiers of the Football League, earning promotion from League 2 in 2010, League 1 in 2013, and then finally promotion into the Premier League in 2015.

His achievements have not gone unnoticed outside of the Tavern in recent years either, winning the Football League Manager of the Decade award for his success between 2005 and 2015.

Howe’s stock is definitely rising amongst the punters here in the Tavern – and the Arsenal fans would love it if he made his way to the Emirates. He might be young, but our landlord thinks he has everything it takes to become a top manager.

Arsenal fans – we want to hear from you! Would you like to see Howe at the Emirates?
