There are stunned faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Express claim that Arsene Wenger is set to make a double raid on Barcelona.
Not only is he targeting winger Pedro, who is moving closer and closer to the exit door at the Camp Nou after asking to leave the club, but Wenger is also keen on Dani Alves.
As our regulars note over a pint and game of darts, Alves has made it very clear he will be leaving Barcelona this summer and with a host of clubs keen on getting him on a free, we think that Wenger and the Gunners could well steal a march on the waiting pack by offering a cut price amount for him this January.
Barcelona and manager Luis Enrique would obviously rather sell Alves this winter for some money rather than risk losing him for nothing a couple of months later – yet their supposed transfer ban could prove a problem in recruiting a replacement.
Arsenal fans. Do you think that Wenger can pull this off or is asking for one player more than enough of a challenge for him? Let us know your thoughts below.
