The Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still seething after watching their hopes of winning the Premier League evaporate during Sunday’s 3-2 defeat by Manchester United.
They are left scratching their heads at the prospect of not winning the Premier League title this season, despite the majority of their rivals struggling to hit top form.
Our landlord here in the Tavern has spotted an article in The Telegraph today that claims Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is set to be given £75m in order to overhaul the squad in the summer.
The French manager has been reluctant to sign stellar players during recent windows but it appears he might now be prepared to sign the very best, in order to win the title once more.
In the same article, it suggests that left-back Kieran Gibbs could be moved on in the summer to make way for new additions to the squad.
One Arsenal fan is playing pool in the Tavern and is disgusted with his team’s performance on Sunday, conceding that it will now take a mammoth effort in order to win the league this season.
Arsenal fans… Who should the club sign? Is Wenger right to let Gibbs leave?
