Kiko Casilla

Arsenal supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are enjoying the long bank holiday weekend following today’s game against Fulham.

The Express indicates that the Gunners will now look to Espanyol goalkeeper Kiko Casilla as they search for a new shot stopper before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Arsene Wenger has sent out chief negotiator Dick Law in order to try and put together a deal for Valencia keeper Vicente Guaita but the Gunners have refused to pay the asking price of £17 million with reports suggesting a £3 million bid for laughed out of the boardroom.

While Real Madrid and Spanish ace Iker Casillas remains on Wenger’s radar with the long serving player becoming increasingly disenchanted with life at the Bernabeu.

Now Wenger has outlined a move for Casilla as he seeks a first class replacement for Polish international Wojciech Szczesny who the French boss still have concerns about as his number one at the Emirates Stadium.

Spanish reports suggest that Casilla has a £17 million release clause in his current contract which runs until 2015.

Will Arsene move for the Spanish keeper or should he keep faith in Szczesny? Let us know your thoughts below.
