Arsenal set sights on Paraguayan starlet

sanabria.jpgThe Daily Mirror have Arsenal fans looking up from their pints here at the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim Arsene Wenger is set to raid Barcelona for one of their starlets.

La Masia star Antonio Sanabria is considering his future after carving out a sensational reputation after his time in the Barca youth ranks and is fully aware of how many clubs are after his signature – including that of Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger is of course known for capturing young, talented players and feels that Sanabria is no different and is keen on swooping for the 17-year-old Paraguayan starlet.

Wenger has of course got a very successful history of capturing Barcelona youngsters – a 16-year-old Cesc Fabregas made his name at the Emirates Stadium before a move back to the Camp Nou.

One small issue for Wenger however is the fact that Barcelona are keen on holding onto their talented 17-year-old and are willing to improve the terms of his contract in order to do so.

After some sensational performances at the Under-20 World Cup in Turkey, the player, known as Tonny, has seen his stock rise even further than he thought possible and has a fine eye for goal to boot. Barcelona are of course also hoping to hold onto Thiago Alcantara this summer as the player looks to the exit door.

Is this starlets long-term future at Arsenal? Let us know your thoughts below.
