Arsenal set to complete Deadline Day deal with French side

DebuchyArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern almost dropped off to sleep by the fire but they’ve been given one rumour concerning their club to keep their eyes on.

The Independent states that Mathieu Debuchy will get his exit from Arsenal approved today and the French international will join Bordeaux on-loan until the end of the season.

Debuchy has endured a torrid time at Arsenal since his arrival in 2014, with a spell that’s been plagued by injuries, and his absence let to young Hector Bellerin moving ahead of the experienced full-back on the pecking order.

With Debuchy keen to bolster his chances of securing a spot in France’s European Championship squad at the end of the season, he’s keen to leave to secure first-team football and Arsene Wenger admitted today the defender could leave before the end of the day.

Struggling Aston Villa and Sunderland were also stated to be keen on the French international but our landlord believes he’s much better suited to French football.

Arsenal fans, does losing Debuchy mean you need a defensive signing? Let us know in the comments below!
