Arsenal set to face stern battle over key target

Arsenal fans gathered at the bar for a few post-work pints of TT Ale this Friday evening have been very excited by the names linked with a move to The Emirates this summer over the past week or so, and our barman has a little update for them regarding one of the biggest.

According to reports from the print edition of French newspaper L’Equipe (via Sport Witness), Ligue 1 champions Monaco will be doing whatever they can to fend off interest in reported Arsenal target Kylian Mbappe and will be trying to keep the 18-year-old ‘at all costs.’

The forward, who enjoyed an outstanding breakthrough season with the principality side last season – winning the club a league title for the first time in 17 years as well as reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League, and has been turning heads across the continent.

Our landlord reckons a deal for the youngster could well make or break the planned overhaul at Arsenal this summer, as Wenger looks to turn his side around after arguably the worst season in his time at the club, despite the FA Cup win.

Gooners, we want to hear from you! Do you think your club has enough about them to prise Mbappe away from Monaco? Let us know in the comments below…
