Arsenal set to improve offer as initial bid is rejected for pacey forward?

The Gabon International in action for Borussia Dortmu

Arsenal fans inside Football Transfer Tavern have a very good reason to be excited today as their long wait for a marquee striker signing could well be coming to an end.

This comes after Sky Sports News are reporting that despite an initial offer of around €41 million for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang being rejected by Dortmund, the word on the ground in Germany is that a revised bid that works out at around £30 million (€43 million) will be lodged early this week.

Arsene Wenger is determined to add to his strike force according to Metro  who describe him as ‘desperate’ to sign the Gabon international, with a huge offer on the table.

The front-man who bagged himself 26 goals last term is a player Wenger has been following since his Ligue 1 days in France.

The manager’s well documented links to French football could prove vital to any deal being struck, but with the recent departure of Ciro Immobile to Sevilla, the Gunners might have to break the bank to secure this deal.

Arsenal fans over by the pool table here in the Transfer Tavern feel this would be great addition to the squad, what do you make of the chances of this deal coming off? Is Aubameyang the sort of player  needed at the Emirates? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
