After a summer of stalled deals and unsuccessful signings; Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern could finally have something to shout about…
It looks like Arsenal signings are a bit like London buses…you wait all summer for one and then three come at once!
With reports circulating all week that Arsenal are set to complete a double-swoop for both Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez before tomorrow’s 11:30pm transfer deadline – it appears that yet another signing could still be on the way.
According to The Sun, Arsenal are set to launch an £11m bid for attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron, currently playing for Argentine champions Lanus.
Almirion is naturally an attacking midfielder, preferring the coveted ‘number 10’ role – just behind the striker and flanked by two rampaging wingers. He possesses raw technical ability, and is known for his delicate attacking play.
Pacey, technically gifted and a solid dribbler – he sounds like the perfect Arsene Wenger player.
He joined his current club in 2015, after spending several years playing in his native Paraguay with Cerro Porteno.
He made 16 appearances for Lanus last year, where he scored just the one goal.
He also made his international debut this year by representing Paraguay at this summer’s Copa America, and despite not being well known by most here in the Football Transfer Tavern – our landlord reckons he could become quite the player.
Just in case you needed any more convincing on how good Almiron is – take a look at this short compilation video detailing some of his recent highlights…
The Arsenal faithful couldn’t take their eyes off of him when we showed that on the big screen here in the Tavern earlier today…
Arsenal fans – thoughts? Do you think he looks good? Are you worried that the Premier League might be a bit of a step up?
