Pull up a stool at the bar in The Transfer Tavern and you’re likely to find plenty of Arsenal fans who’ll tell you that Alexis Sanchez is perhaps the finest player in the English Premier League. In many ways, they have a point!
This season the attacker scored a massive 30 goals in all competitions, also assisting 13 more. That’s a total of 43 goals he directly contributed to in just 51 matches, a fantastic return by anyone’s standards at the top level.
However, with just one year left on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium, there are question marks about his future in an Arsenal shirt.
Now latest reports from The Daily Star say that Manchester City are set to offer him an incredible £275,000-per-week to make the switch to the Etihad. The report also states that City are hoping Arsenal accept a whopping £50m to allow him to join up with Pep Guardiola.
If Arsenal do have to say goodbye to him this summer then fans would surely prefer him to move abroad rather to a rival Premier League club? If that’s the case then this is a story that won’t be very pleasing to supporters whatsoever.
What do you think Arsenal fans? Are you willing to let Sanchez go if it means receiving £50m? Or would you prefer him to move abroad, even if it means the club receive less money?
