Arsenal could be set to secure the re-signing of Charlton Athletic midfielder Regan Charles-Cook during the summer, just three years after releasing him as a youngster.
The 19-year-old was given the boot by the club and has since gone onto make his first-team debut in the Sky Bet Championship with the Addicks.
The landlord here in the Transfer Tavern has spotted an article in the South London Press that claims, Arsenal scouts have been frequent visitors to Charlton’s Under-21 games this season to keep an eye on Charles-Cook’s progress.
The Gunners could make a move to take him back to the Emirates Stadium, although they will face competition from Liverpool for his signature during the summer.
One Arsenal fan is chatting with his fellow pals with a pint of the landlord’s finest real ale and he believes the signing of Charles-Cook could be a mistake. He thinks that having already released him once, the club should look to utilise the youngsters already doing great things in the club’s academy instead of signing anymore.
Arsenal fans, what do you make to this news? Should the club look to take Charles-Cook back to the Emirates?
