Arsenal missed out on Champions League football for the first time under Arsene Wenger, meaning both manager and club face an uncertain future heading into the summer ahead of next season.
The Gunners fans here in the Tavern have been looking a bit down, but they do have an FA Cup final to look forward to this weekend, and it could well end in success and a trophy if all goes to plan.
However, there is little doubting that there needs to be some rebuilding done in the summer, and this means delving into the transfer market and spending some big money on some real quality to improve the playing ranks at the Emirates.
One player our landlord has mentioned to the Gunners fans is Real Madrid star James Rodriguez, who is currently valued at £42.5m by Transfermarkt.
The Colombian is a real world class player on his day, and is the sort of top quality star who would be an excellent addition to most teams around Europe. His ability to score the spectacular and his big game mentality make him an excellent capture for the Gunners if they do make a move for him.
Not only that, but signing someone of the star power that James has, could prove pivotal in keeping hold of the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, something which is crucial if the Gunners are going to have success next term.
