Arsenal can head into the summer with some confidence behind them, knowing that Arsene Wenger is staying and that the board seem to be willing to back him big finally in the transfer market.
The Gunners will be hoping to add some new talent over the summer, talent of the sufficient quality which can push them towards the Premier League title next term.
The Arsenal fans here in the Tavern though are always on edge when it comes to the transfer window, and they will no doubt also have one eye on any potential outgoings at the club. Our landlord though thinks this could be a good summer for the Gunners, and he’s been chucking a few names into the hat this week durin discussions with fans by the bar.
One player who was mentioned is current Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma, who is valued at £14.45m by website Transfermarkt.
The young Frenchman burst onto the scene nearly two years ago now, and looked to be the man Chelsea were set to build their defence around. However, his progress slowed last year, and the signing of David Luiz and the emergence of Cesar Azpilicueta as a centre back, shoved Zouma down the pecking order.
He is though a top talent, and is young enough to still develop into one of the world’s top defenders with the right coaching and environment around him.
Zouma would be an excellent fit at the Emirates, and he is certainly someone Arsene Wenger should consider to shore up his back line.
