Arsenal will be looking to have a much better season time around after missing out on Champions League football last term for the first time in nearly two decades.
The Gunners have added some new faces to the their squad over the summer, most notably the big money signing of Alex Lacazette, a signing which has got the Arsenal fans here in the Tavern brimming with excitement.
Our landlord thinks that the Londoners can reclaim their spot in the top four this season, but he also thinks that defensive reinforcements will be needed to ensure that the club can keep a suitable amount of clean sheets over the course of the season.
One man he thinks could help Arsenal achieve this is current West Brom defender Jonny Evans, who has become the main man at the back for the Baggies since moving away from Manchester United.
The experienced Northern Ireland defender has cemented his place as one of the standout defenders in the top flight, and a move to Arsenal could give him one last crack at landing another Premier League trophy to go with the ones he racked up at Man United.
Evans is a solid presence and knows the league inside out, and would bring a level of calm and defensive knowhow to the backline at the Emirates.
West Brom would not want to lose him, but Arsenal have money to spend, meaning if Wenger moved for Evans, it would surely be a matter of time before the Baggies caved and accepted the offers.
Arsenal fans, what do you think? Would you take Evans? Let us know!
