Arsenal are starting to pick up a bit this season, and despite a dour 0-0 draw in their midweek Europa League tie, the Gunners’ league form is indeed showing signs of recovery as they look to seal a top four place.
Manager Arsene Wenger has once again made some shrewd signings in the summer, with Alexandre Lacazette beginning to look the part, and the key duo of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez starting to function and dovetail again.
Our punters here in the Tavern have been having some beers with our landlord this week, and talk has already turned to January and who the Gunners could look to sign to strengthen the ranks. One player who kept getting a mention was former Chelsea star and German international Andre Schurrle.
The forward has been on the periphery of proceedings this season for current club Borussia Dortmund, but is a player who possesses bags of ability and plenty of experience for someone who is still only in his mid-20’s.
While Arsenal do have a host of attacking options who people may argue are similar to Schurrle, the German brings a directness to the field in terms of his style of play. He has bags of pace, a rocket of a shot, and is the sort of player who can turn defence into attack in seconds.
If Arsenal want to add quality, and someone who already has Premier League experience, then Schurrle could well be their man.
Gunners fans, what do you think? Would Schurrle be a good signing? Let us know!Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
