Arsenal should make audacious attempt to bring £67.5m-rated City legend along with Arteta

Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern don’t know what to think about the news that Mikel Arteta is set to take over Arsene Wenger as manager.

The former Arsenal captain is the favourite to replace Wenger who finally announced his departure from the club. Despite working closely with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Arteta has never had a job in management meaning he would be an extremely risky appointment. However, it could turn out to be another masterstroke from the Arsenal board.

Should the ex-Everton man take the reins at the Emirates, he should raid his former club for some of their star players. One man who could be set to leave the Etihad this summer is legendary striker – Sergio Aguero. With Gabriel Jesus stacking his claim to be the number one forward in Manchester, the Argentine could be set to leave.

If Arteta is appointed, he should make an audacious attempt to bring Aguero to North London. The 29-year-old has netted 30 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions this season – he is still one of the best strikers in the world. Valued at £67.5m by Transfermarkt, the former Atletico Madrid would be Arsenal’s best signing for years.

Alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, the Gunners would have one of the most feared forward lines in world football.

Arsenal fans, could you lure Sergio Aguero to Arsenal? Let us know!
