Arsenal will be heading into the summer in good spirits after sealing the FA Cup with a win over Chelsea, and manager Arsene Wenger looking like he is going to stay at the time of writing this piece.
The Gunners have endured a mixed season, sealing a trophy but ultimately coming up short in the race for the top four, something which many thought would cost Arsene Wenger his job at the end of the campaign.
Here in the Transfer Tavern, our landlord has been spending plenty of his time with the Arsenal faithful over by the pool table, and conversations this week have been turning to who the club might look to sign this summer.
One player who our landlord dropped into conversation is current Real Madrid and Portugal defender Pepe, who has once again been a pivotal part of the Madrid side which has reached another Champions League final.
The big defender has long been one of the bigger characters in the game across Europe, and has been a mainstay of the Madrid defence for around a decade now.
However, Arsenal will be looking to add some real fight and steel to their team next season, and Pepe has this in abundance. The chance for him to come to the Premier League and impress could well be something which interests him, and he could well be a superb signing for Wenger should he decide to make a move.
Gunners fans, what do you think, would you take Pepe? Let us know in the comments!
