Arsenal should seriously consider making a move for this £17m-rated Serie A star

Arsenal have been putting together a small string of wins of late, getting themselves out of what seemed like a rut which was going to cost Arsene Wenger his job.

The Gunners have delivered some excellent performances at times this season, while at other times they have been frustrating and poor, leading to the Arsenal fans here in the Tavern going through a whole host of different emotions.

Our landlord has been catching up with the Gunners fans at the bar this week though, and they have been having a few pints and discussing some potential summer transfer moves.

One payer our landlord got round to mentioning was impressive Roma and Holland midfielder Kevin Strootman, who is currently valued at £17m by website Transfermarkt.

The all action midfielder suffered a serious injury a few seasons ago when he looked to be on the verge of a move to the Premier League, but since his return, has been in excellent form for the Rome club.

Strootman offers something which Arsenal have lacked for many years now, in that he can control a midfield, get stuck in, and crucially, play good football.

The Dutchman looks to be the ideal sort of signing for Arsene Wenger in the middle of the park, and should the club be able to convince Roma to part ways with the 27-year-old, then the Gunners will have an excellent player on their hands.

Arsenal fans, what do you think? Would you take Strootman at the Emirates? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
