Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are on a high following their 5-0 demolition of Burnley at the weekend which was Arsene Wenger’s final home game in charge of the club.
The Gunners gave the Frenchman the perfect send-off with braces from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette as well as goals from Sead Kolasinac and Alex Iwobi securing a massive win at the Emirates. Wenger was given a guard of honour before kick-off to celebrate his wonderful achievements during his tenure.
While Arsenal are focusing on Wenger at the moment, attention must soon be turned to the summer transfer window with the Gunners falling well behind their Premier League rivals. Summer reinforcements are a must if they are to challenge for the league title again under Wenger’s successor.
One man that should be on their shortlist is Manchester City legend – Yaya Toure. The Ivorian midfielder will leave the club at the end of the year following eight seasons in Manchester where he scooped three Premier League trophies. Despite being 34-years-old, Toure is valued at £4.5m by Transfermarkt and could be a valuable addition to the Arsenal midfield.
With bags of experience, the ex-Barcelona midfielder would help Arsenal’s youngsters rise through the ranks while also giving the new manager another option in the engine room.
Toure intends to play in the Premier League for the next two years and has offered to pay back half his wages if his performances are not up to scratch according to his agent. Arsenal would be foolish to refuse such an offer.
Arsenal fans, is Yaya Toure a good signing? Let us know!
