After 22 years of Arsene Wenger, a new era has begun for the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern.

Former Sevilla and PSG boss, Unai Emery has got off to a solid start in the transfer window so far. Bringing in free agent, Stephan Lichsteiner and German international Bernd Leno seem to be shrewd signings by the club. With multiple other names linked to the club, it seems it could be a busy summer for the Arsenal faithful. One player linked with a move to the club is Boca Juniors winger Cristian Pavon.

The Breakdown

According to Spanish news outlet, AS (h/t talksport)Arsenal put in a bid of £27 million for the Argentine forward last January and are keen to bring him in this summer.

Although Argentina had a terrible World Cup campaign which resulted in them being beaten by France, Cristian Pavon's reputation has only increased. Before the World Cup, Pavon had surely attracted interest from Europe and has only helped that by being one of the few Argentinian players to perform anywhere near to his potential. The same report concludes that Boca Juniors are in no rush to sell a player whose contract runs until 2022.

With Aubameyang seemingly occupying one of the wing spots, bringing in Pavon could well give some competition to Iwobi and Mkhitaryan. Pavon scored six goals to go with 13 assists in the Primera Division last year according to Transfermarkt - where he has a rating of £18m - and although he still raw, he could give Arsenal some added firepower up front. Moreover, with Pavon waiting in the wings, Arsenal would no longer need to rely on the inconsistent Alex Iwobi or Danny Welbeck.

Arsenal fans - is he the winging for you?
