Arsenal will be going into the new season in confident mood after securing the future of Arsene Wenger and also landing a long term target in the transfer window.
The signing of Alexandre Lacazette is a massive step in the right direction for the Gunners, who have seen their summer transfer window shrouded in rumours about the futures of stars Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Manager Wenger will be hoping this big money signing can convince his other top talents to stay, and the Gunners fans here in the Transfer Tavern are looking forward to seeing just how their new striker settles in.
Our landlord though thinks more can be added to the Gunners squad to give them added depth, and one player he thinks could benefit from a move to the Emirates is Everton man Ross Barkley.
Firmly out of favour under Ronald Koeman, Barkley could well have his eyes on a move elsewhere as he looks to rescue a career which is in danger of drifting into obscurity unless his form and attitude can improve.
However, Arsenal could be the ideal stomping ground for him, with Wenger having a rich history of bringing along talented young players. Barkley is clearly a man of huge talents, and he was actually playing quite well for the Toffees last term in the main.
He has though, yet to sign a new deal at Goodison, and this looks like it is going to cost him his future on Merseyside. A chance to give himself fresh impetus for the Gunners and steer them back towards the Champions League could be too good to turn down, should an offer come along.
