It’s been another topsy-turvy season for our Arsenal fans here in the Tavern this season, but a mid-week win over AC Milan has given them something to shout about and some genuine hope they can go on to win the Europa League.
The Gunners are once again under the public eye heading into the summer as manager Arsene Wenger clings to his job at the Emirates amid building pressure from some sections of support following an uncertain season and some terrible results and performances along the way.
However, our landlord here in the Tavern is confident that Wenger will remain, and he will no doubt want to venture into the transfer market come the summer and add some further quality additions to supplement the excellent business he did in January.
One such player who our landlord thinks the club should move for this summer is Colombian midfielder James Rodriguez, who is midway through a two-year spell with Bayern Munich, but could well be tempted to make a more permanent move if it was right for him.
Rodriguez lit up the World Cup back in 2014, ultimately earning himself the move to the Spanish capital, but it has surprisingly not worked out for the classy attacking midfielder, who struggled to nail down a regular place at the Bernabeu.
He would however, be a tremendous signing for Arsenal, and supplement the attacking talent already on display at the Emirates. Rodriguez brings genuine quality, and winners mentality, something many fans say the Gunners have been missing for quite some time.
