Arsenal fans are having quite the day of it here in the Football Transfer Tavern and the London Evening Standard has just made it that bit more exciting as they claim the Gunners are set to go head to head with their neighbours for one of Serie A’s brightest young talents.
Cagliari midfielder Godfred Donsah is being tracked by both Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City and now it seems that Arsene Wenger has decided to join that list after instructing scouts to go and monitor the progress of the starlet.
The 18 year old has already featured for the Cagliari first team and is impressing both his current side and suitors – yet there could well be a work permit issue for any side trying to sign him.
However as one of our punters notes, the Gunners faced a similar issue with Gabriel Paulista and managed to appeal that decision and get the player a permit to play for them – and we think that would be the case a second time round for Donsah.
Arsenal fans. Can you beat City and Spurs to land Donsah or should you be focusing on bringing bigger names to the club? Let us know your thoughts below.
