That’s because according to the Daily Mail, Arsene Wenger is ready to splurge £100 million on his squad this season as he looks to make them genuine title contenders.
The news comes after Wenger agreed a new three-year deal at the club worth more than £8 million a season at the Emirates Stadium.
It’s now up to Wenger to highlight who he wants at the club with the resources for numerous players at his disposal this summer.
First up for the Frenchman is a new right-back after the club saw Bacary Sagna leave on a free transfer with the 31-year-old set to join a long list of Arsenal players that jumped ship and moved to Manchester City.
Schalke’s Atsuto Uchida, Southampton’s Calum Chambers and Toulouse’s Serge Aurier have already been cited as possible replacements at the Emirates but it doesn’t stop there.
Wenger also wants to bring in some strength in depth in the midfield and although he’s given up on Bayer Leverkusen’s Lars Bender he is still interested in bringing back former Gunner Cesc Fabregas.
And Arsenal are also interested in La Liga strikers Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata whilst Loic Remy has also been touted for a move.
