Despite their FA Cup semi-final win, there could well be some bad news for Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern courtesy of The Telegraph.
The publication claim that German forward Lukas Podolski has made it very clear that he is not happy with life at the club – given his sparse role either as a substitute or being hauled off after half a game.
Olivier Giroud has been the number one forward this season, and it seems that at least one more striker will be brought in this summer. Podolski knows that this is not good regarding his chances at getting regular playing time for Arsene Wenger’s men.
He claimed: “Of course. I play and, in the last games, I always come out and of course you cannot be happy when you always go out after 60, 70 minutes. Of course I am not happy always to be substituted.
“It’s the decision of the boss. It’s not always easy when you play for a big club but of course I am not happy to always come out and watch from outside. You cannot be happy with this situation.”
As our landlord notes, he also delivered a blistering attack on the club having now fallen outside the top four with Everton stealing a march on the Gunners, noting it would be a ‘disaster’ should the season end with Arsenal failing to get into those Champions League positions.
Arsenal fans. Has Podolski even been good enough in his own performances to be this outspoken in his remarks? Let us know your thoughts below.
