There is some excitement from Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern courtesy of the Daily Mirror.
The publication have claimed that Olivier Giroud will not be leaving in the summer, and the Frenchman has made it very clear that he wants to stay at the club.
Rumours linking the ex-Montpellier forward with a move away from the Emriates Stadium have been swirling since the media caught a hold of indiscretions before a game involving Giroud and a model.
Despite this, the Gunners forward seems to want an extended stay in the famous Arsenal shirt, and has claimed that not only will he stay but he expects Arsene Wenger to remain at the club as well.
He noted: “You shouldn’t listen to that. A lot of things were said. I’m still happy in London and with Arsenal and think I will be in the future.
“I have a contract until 2016 and I’m an Arsenal player. I want to be here next season, at least that’s my will.”
Will Giroud and Wenger both be at Arsenal next season, hoping to build on a season that promised so much in the Premier League? Let us know your thoughts below.
