Arsenal star delivers defiant verdict on comprehensive 3-0 victory over West Ham

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted that Mesut Ozil was back on the scoresheet earlier this week…

The German has had a poor few months, with injury troubles and poor form drawing the ire of those in the Transfer Tavern. That being said, he is still a fan favourite, and so when he put the Gunners 1-0 up against West Ham earlier this week, there was a real sense of delight present in the pub.

Following the game, Ozil has taken to Twitter in response to the performance, with the German posting a defiant message online, one that both defends his team but also his own performances.

The Tweet, which can be seen below in full, reads: “No, we haven’t forgotten how to win”, alongside the line ‘There’s life in the old lady yet’.

Ozil’s performance was certainly his best in a long time, and the German appears pretty happy about it – and so he should be.

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are now hoping that he is able to kick on and make some real progress before the end of the season.

The Gunners will need a monumental effort between now and the end of the season, with those in the Transfer Tavern hoping that their side can make some real progress. Indeed, with several points separating them from the top four – it is going to be a tough ask.
