Audacity is not the word here in the Football Transfer Tavern, as Metro claim that Arsenal outcast Nicklas Bendtner is targeting a massive pay rise from his next club.
As our landlord notes whilst serving a pint, the Danish forward will certainly be leaving the Gunners in the summer, with his actions off the field and lack of goals on it contributing to his lacklustre spell in an Arsenal shirt.
Now, despite being in trouble yet again after an altercation with a taxi driver, Bendtner has seen fit to demand a 100 per cent increase in his wages from any new club.
Our punters find this news rather funny, and one is quite right to make the quip that the forward would be lucky to even get a club that could afford to double his wages. More to the point, he might struggle to find one that would be willing to!
With Gunners manager Arsene Wenger admitting that the Danish international’s future at the club is all but over, the only thing we are sure about is the fact that Bendtner will be leaving in the summer – but where to exactly is a mystery as yet.
Should the troubled 26-year-old demand the £104,000 that has been rumoured, the odds on him staying in England seem rather large. We can’t think of any Premier League club willing to pay that!
Can you think of anyone other than Paddy Power that would give Bendtner over £100,000? Let us know your thoughts below.
