Finally it seems that one of our longest running sagas is set to end in the Football Transfer Tavern courtesy of news emerging from the Daily Mirror.
The publication seem to think that Bacary Sagna is certain to leave Arsenal this summer with contract talks not at an impasse.
The French right back had wanted a greater pay increase than the one originally offered to him, and will also seek a signing-on fee from whoever signs him next.
As our punters note, the defender is keen to stay in England and will attempt to engineer a move to a fellow Premier League club – something that will not go down too well with the Emirates Stadium faithful, who of course see a fair few players do that down the years.
Both Manchester City and Chelsea have been linked with the ex-Auxerre player and there have also been tentative links with Liverpool.
Arsenal meanwhile will miss out on a fee for the player who is of course out of contact and will be searching for a replacement right back to bring into the club.
Arsenal fans. How big a blow would it be to see Sagna turning out for the likes of Chelsea or City next term? Let us know your thoughts below.
