Arsenal star dropped after latest smoking scandal

Szczesny.jpgArsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern can’t quite believe what they’re hearing after reports linked the Gunners to yet another smoking scandal, filling the back pages on the continent.

Gazzetta Dello Sport suggest that Roma loanee Wojciech Szczesny was dropped for yesterday’s Serie A clash, where Roma lost to Atalanta, because the Polish international had been caught smoking again.

The 25-year-old is no stranger to such a controversy as he was fined in January by Arsenal after smoking in the showers following a defeat to Southampton, which also led to the goalkeeper losing his first-team spot to David Ospina.

A further scandal could be hugely detrimental to Szczesny’s future as he is beginning to earn a reputation, which will not please Arsenal or any side interested in his signature.

Our regulars are disgusted and believe that Szczesny has not learnt his lesson, which raises their concerns for his long-term suitability to the North London giants. In their eyes, this may well be the last straw.

Should Arsenal take any action here? Is Szczesny throwing his career away? Let us know in the comments below!
