There is not exactly good news for Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Sport 360 has worried them with their latest claim.
The publication have noted that Santi Cazorla is willing to consider his future at the Emirates Stadium if the Gunners cannot provide the thing he wants most of all – trophies.
As one of our punters points out over a pint, that is slightly unfortunate, given it seems to be the one thing Arsenal and their so-called ‘specialist in failure’ manager, Arsene Wenger cannot manage to deliver.
There is a realistic chance of winning the FA Cup this season, but our landlord thinks that the Gunners have their work cut out against Wigan Athletic – and that is not exactly a statement that inspires confidence that the club can keep their best players.
The Spaniard was asked about his long-term future and claimed: “I want titles and that is why I came to Arsenal.
“Every football player wants to win titles. We’ve gone many years without winning one. And if not, what I’ll look for in my next destination is to have the chance to win.
“I don’t want to close doors, but nowadays I’ve a contract with Arsenal for two more seasons. When I’m turning 31 I’ll evaluate myself and I’ll choose the best option. In which case, I would be delighted to come back [to Spain].”
Given Cazorla is 30 in December this year, the clock is ticking, and we think that Wenger and his side need to pull their socks up!
Do you think that Cazorla needs to be looking elsewhere if he wants to win trophies in his career? Let us know your thoughts below.
