It’s been a tough campaign for Arsenal down at the Emirates and pressure remains on the shoulders of Arsene Wenger going into the summer.
The Gunners fans lining the bar here in the pub certainly have mixed feelings about his place at the helm of the club but moving forward, it’s clear the managerial situation needs to be resolved at the club.
But one man that looks like he’ll be staying at the club in the long term is defender Hector Bellerin, who has admitted he is happy in South London, despite the difficulties the club have had in recent weeks.
The Spaniard had been criticised by the supporters in some of the tougher games towards the end of the season and despite getting an earful from fans, Bellerin remains committed to the Gunners cause.
‘It’s something ( the criticism) you’ve got to deal with,’ Bellerin told the Daily Mail. ‘When you win you’re going to get fans chanting your name and when you don’t do great they’re going to give you stick.
‘I signed my contract for a reason, I signed it because I wanted to be here. I wouldn’t have done it otherwise.
‘Arsenal is the club that gave me the chance to be a professional and since the first time I met with the boss he’s always said if I progressed the right way I could be an Arsenal player for a long time,’ he added.
Bellerin has been a big part of proceedings at Arsenal since signing for the club and despite a disappointing end to the campaign, our Arsenal-mad landlord remains convinced he’s still one of the best players in the division.
