Arsenal fans had a pleasant start to their weekend in the Transfer Tavern with an early afternoon victory over Everton and the discussions in the bar quickly switched to stories on the transfer front.
The Brentwood Gazette provides further evidence of West Ham’s keen interest in Arsenal outcast Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with the high-flying east London side eying a move for the England international.
Former Southampton ace Oxlade-Chamberlain has spent years at Arsenal but has failed to find a regular spot in the starting line-up, with injuries and poor performances taking their toll, whilst the emergence of Joel Campbell and Alex Iwobi within the squad has provided further competition.
Whether Arsenal would sell though remains to be seen but with no clear avenue into the first-team on a weekly basis, Oxlade-Chamberlain could push for an exit and the Hammers will tempt Arsenal with an offer of around £15m.
However, the 22-year-old has a bright future still and Arsenal may find themselves regretting a sale if they elect to cash-in.
