Our Arsenal fans are feeling increasingly concerned at the moment as Mesut Ozil has been linked with a move to Inter Milan!
Indeed, according to the Inter president Erick Thohir in the Daily Mail, the German is a target of the Italian side for the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old is out-of-contract at the end of the season, and he’s free to negotiate and sign a pre-contract with foreign clubs in January.
In 166 games for the Gunners, Ozil has scored a decent total of 33 goals. While his prowess and qualities are evident for all to admire, he’s often criticised for his lack of involvement or positive influence during games against reputable opposition.
At the age of 28, one could argue that the German international is reaching the pinnacle of his footballing abilities and so to see him go for what would likely be a negligible fee in the next window would surely be a kick in the teeth.
It seems, though, that the player has got all the power now.
The former Real Madrid star still has a role to play for Arsene Wenger’s side. On so many occasions he’s their source of creativity and invention, Arsenal must extend his contract as soon as they can!
It does look as though he doesn’t really want to sign a new deal right now.
