Arsenal fans playing pool in the Tavern have become concerned after recent rumours suggesting that Jack Wilshere could be set to leave the club, according to the Sun.
Wilshere has fuelled the exit talk by putting his £3.7 million Hertfordshire mansion up for sale, with reports claiming that the 24-year old is not looking to purchase a new property in the area.
The England international has not played so far this season after he fractured his leg during the Gunners’ pre-season campaign.
Various media outlets mention that Wilshere, who has previously been linked with a switch to Manchester City on several occasions throughout his career, could finally be set to make the move to the Etihad Stadium.
The midfielder has two years left on his current contract at Arsenal and has spent his entire career with the club but could be attracted by the potential arrival of Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola in Manchester.
With Manchester City already filling their quota of foreign players, Wilshere would be a welcome addition to the list of City’s English players, which includes Joe Hart and Raheem Sterling.
Our landlord believes that Wilshere could be a good signing for the Blues, with Guardiola reportedly making the strengthening on their midfield a priority, although their fans might be concerned about signing another injury-prone star.
