Here in the Football Transfer Tavern, Arsenal fans are moving towards our landlord to hear what he has to say after reading the latest claim from The Sun.
The publication claim that Lukasz Fabianski is willing to remain at the Emirates Stadium, despite reports to the contrary, should he be given more first team chances at the club.
The Polish goalkeeper is of course the current back-up, but as our punters note, number one Wojciech Szczesny has certainly had his shaky moments on and off the field – not to mention his selfie antics that has not gone down too well.
Fabianski has been linked with moves away from the North London club time and again, but has expressed a desire to stay at the club – as long as one condition is fulfilled.
The keeper is determined to have more playing time at the Gunners, and is willing to show manager Arsene Wenger exactly what he can do in order to secure this.
As our landlord notes over a pint, this could well cast doubt on the future of Szczesny, with Wenger looking to bring in at least one new stopper in the summer, having been linked with the likes of Real Madrid’s Iker Casillas and Barcelona’s Victor Valdes.
Arsenal fans. Would Wenger really psychologically damage Szczesny by handing Fabianski a regular starting role next season? Let us know your thoughts below.
