Metro certainly have Arsenal fans looking up a little bit alarmed here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim that Lukas Podolski could well be looking towards the exit door.
The German forward nearly left the club in the summer but ended up staying and has not seen the season pan out the way he would have liked so far in terms of his playing time.
With the injury to Olivier Giroud, our punters thought that Podolski might get some more time of the field but with the arrival of Danny Welbeck, that has not ended up being the case.
Not only that, but there are rumours that the Gunners and their boss Arsene Wenger are keen to sign another forward come the January transfer window with Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani the latest to be linked.
Speaking to RTL television, the former FC Koln forward expressed doubts over his long-term future at the club and noted: “I am a full blooded player, a street player and I love competition. If I don’t have this competition every weekend then a change must occur.
“We will have to see. But it is certainly something one has to think about.”
