Metro have Arsenal fans looking slightly concerned here in the Football Transfer Tavern after they claimed that Jack Wilshere has NOT suffered a setback with his injury.
According to some reports, the Gunners midfielder has seen his fitness quest hampered and there were even reports that he may be out for five months and not three months that was initially quoted by club medics and Arsene Wenger.
However that does not seem to be the case now with an Arsenal spokesman speaking to Sky Sports News and claiming: “He’s doing well after surgery and he is three months away from a return as originally stated.
“There’s been no setback.”
As one of our punters notes over a pint, we think that something has to be done about the constant injuries suffered to key Arsenal players.
As our landlord notes, we would not be shocked if this forced Arsene Wenger back into the transfer market this January with Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin reportedly top of his transfer wishlist.
Arsenal fans. With Wilshere of course unable to feature at Stoke City at the weekend, how much of a loss is the England international? Let us know your thoughts below.
