Fans in the Transfer Tavern have been discussing some interesting statistics today that have been unearthed by EA Sports, which reveal the best passers in the Premier League so far this season.
It’s not surprising to see an Arsenal man top of the pile, with Santi Cazorla becoming the first player to achieve 1000 successful passes this season, and the Spaniard is joined in the top ten by team-mate Mesut Ozil.
Staggering, Cazorla completes an average of 53.7 passes per game and has a success rate of 90.30%- which again puts him top of the pile in the division.
However, eyebrows have been raised by the second-highest passer of the Premier League season- AFC Bournemouth’s Andrew Surman, who’s 812 completed passes put him ahead of Chelsea’s World Cup winner Cesc Fabregas.
England fans will be pleased to see the Three Lions boast three names on the list, more than any other nation, as Surman is joined by team-mate Simon Francis and Swansea City’s Jonjo Shelvey in the top ten.
Many in the bar have pointed out the absence of Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the top ten, which surprised a few of our punters!
