The Daily Star contain an update for Arsenal fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they fill us in on the future of Joel Campbell.
The player is of course on loan to Olympiakos from the Gunners and impressed during the Champions League last 16 first leg against Manchester United, yet is still not sure that his future lies in North London.
Arsenal of course have a fair few talented players, but Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has made it clear he was impressed with the Costa Rican’s performance against Manchester United.
He claimed: “He was good and convincing going forward. He looks like he’s adapted to the physical side of the European game.
“He was in Lorient, in Betis and now in Olympiakos and has learnt the toughness of the European leagues.”
Campbell himself has made it clear that he will continue working his socks off to get into the Arsenal first team reckoning. The young starlet noted: “I know I have the qualities to be where I want but I have to improve a lot. I have to work day by day so I can be there.”
As one of our punters moves away from the pool table and over to the bar, he notes that the club would do well to bring the player back and give him the chance he deserves.
Has Campbell showed enough out on loan to suggest that he is ready to compete in Arsenal’s first team squad? Let us know your thoughts below.
