Almost every summer here in the Football Transfer Tavern, it seems that our Arsenal fans have to worry about keeping their top players and according to Metro, that will be no different this time around.
The publication have claimed that Santi Cazorla, who has been linked with a move back to La Liga, has failed to offer Gunners fans any assurances over his future.
The former Villarreal and Malaga star has in fact has told the media that he will only even begin to consider where his future lies after the World Cup.
He claimed: “When the World Cup is over I will start thinking about my situation.
“I don’t want to be thinking about it right now and I have told my agent not to tell me if an offer comes in.”
He also spoke about the links to Atletico Madrid, claiming that he knows a few of their players well and will find out if the links are true ‘once the tournament is over’.
Given Spain’s dismal opening World Cup performance against the Netherlands, one of our punters quips that decision time might come a little bit sooner than the player had originally envisaged with La Roja facing a must win game against Chile.
Arsenal meanwhile have already rejected the chance to re-sign Cesc Fabregas and it seems that they will have to once again focus a part of their summer plans on keeping hold of the players they already have!
Arsenal fans. Do you think Wenger should do everything in his power to keep Cazorla or should you let a wantaway player leave? Let us know your thoughts below.
