Arsenal striker issues apology to Hull City after touchline spat

Arsenal v SL Benfica - Emirates Cup - Pre Season Friendly TournamentThe Hull City fans playing darts in The Transfer Tavern are discussing an apology made to the club by one of their loan players.

The Hull Daily Mail has published the apology on behalf of Arsenal loanee Chuba Akpom. Akpom was unhappy when substituted by Hull manager Steve Bruce during Wednesday’s 2-1 win over Reading at the KC Stadium.

The 20-year-old reacted badly throwing his gloves into the dugout in an act of petulance once he had passed manager Steve Bruce on the touch line. Speaking after the game, Bruce said :

“I’m not going to take notice of a 20-year-old, who when things don’t go his way, spits his dummy and throws his toys out of the pram.”

It seems as though Akpom took heed of his managers words and issued an apology to the fans via his Twitter page which said:

“Hard fought win tonight. Let a lot of people down with my reaction, sorry to the fans, staff and club. Emotions got the better of me.”

The Hull fans in The Transfer Tavern are not overly concerned by his reaction as it shows he is committed to the cause even though he is just at the club on loan.

Hull fans, can Akpom get you promoted? Let us know in the comments below!
