Arsenal suffer big blow ahead of this weekend’s Chelsea clash

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are fearing the worst ahead of this weekend’s clash with Chelsea…

A mid-week loss to Watford has really taken the wind out of their sails, especially given how impressive the Blues have been over the past few weeks.

However, unfortunately for them, things are showing no sign of improving – with the Times reporting that Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out of the game – whilst striker Olivier Giroud is also a doubt after picking up an injury against Watford.

This has come as a huge blow to the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, many of whom are already sweating over the fitness issues within their squad.

Arsenal’s midfield, in particular, is causing issues – with Francis Coquelin the only fit central midfielder with first team experience for Arsene Wenger.

Olivier Giroud’s injury has, unsurprisingly, drawn less anger in the Tavern – given how poorly he performed in the week – but his absence is still a significant blow to the Gunners. After all, Giroud has scored 7 goals this season – highlighting his efficiency in front of goal.

Arsenal’s game against Chelsea is, in many ways, a must-win clash for the Gunners – with Arsene Wenger’s side already 9 points adrift of the Premier League leaders.
