The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern didn’t think things could get any worse…
After all, having crashed out of the Champions League and lost ground in the race for a top-four finish following defeat to West Brom – things are not going well at the Emirates.
However, it would appear as though their dignity was not all that was taken from Arsenal against West Brom – with the Mirror reporting that Petr Cech could also be another pretty major casualty from the game.
According to the Mirror, the goalkeeper suffered an injury during the game – and could be set to miss around a month of action as a result. It isn’t all bad news, though, with the publication also noting that Cech could return for Arsenal’s FA Cup clash against Manchester City.
That FA Cup boost has done little to calm the disappointment amongst the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern, with many claiming that Cech’s unavailability could be the final nail in the coffin for their top four hopes.
Indeed, with Arsenal now 19 points away from Chelsea in top spot and currently two places adrift of the top four – things are going to be tough from Wenger from here on out.
