Arsene Wenger’s side salvaged a 2-2 draw thanks to a late Olivier Giroud equaliser having been 2-0 down with just eight minutes to go.
But at times Arsenal’s defensive frailties showed and it appears the Gunners will need to bring in at least one new face in that position.
And according to The Express, Arsenal have made a £6 million move for Olympiakos’ Greek international centre back Kostas Manolas.
The Gunners have been linked with Liverpool’s Daniel Agger and Manchester City’s Matija Nastasic in recent weeks as they continue to look for a replacement for Thomas Vermaelen.
Arsenal sold their club captain to Barcelona just a few weeks ago for £15 million but as yet the Gunners have not replaced him.
However it now appears that Wenger has pinpointed Manolas as the man to come in and strengthen his squad.
The 23-year-old was part of the Greek squad that competed in the World Cup this summer and overall has been capped 13 times by his country.
