The Sun have a sensational claim here in the Football Transfer Tavern today as they think that Arsene Wenger is set to bid for a wonderkid from Croatia.
Dinamo Zagreb’s Tin Jedvaj is the latest player to catch the eye of the Frenchman who must be feeling rather pleased with himself thus far this summer given the Gonzalo Higuain transfer looks set to go through in the coming days, meaning he has made good on his promise to sign a world class player this summer.
In true Wenger style as one of our punters quips, it is no shock that despite this and still having nearly £50 million to spend, Wenger is eyeing the little known starlet in a £6 million move. The 17-year-old has been dubbed the best thing to come out of Croatia since Luka Modric (take from that what you will!) and Wenger is ready to pounce after a £5 million bid emerging from Serie A giants Roma failed.
The Frenchman has been on the hunt for a defender for a while now and whilst he is still a bid fan of Swansea City skipper Ashley Willaims, a move for the 17-year-old Croat is seen as more of a long-term option.
Will Arsenal add the Croatian to their youth ranks? Rate this rumour below.
