Arsenal are understood to be keeping tabs on one of football’s most impressive left-backs ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to a report by ESPN FC, The Gunners are among some of Europe’s top clubs thought to be keen on Nicolas Tagliafico.
The £18million-rated defender, per Transfermarkt, has been impressing with his performances for Ajax over the last 12 months and is believed to have the likes of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid monitoring him.
Arsenal have had to deal with a number of injuries this season in the defensive positions out wide, with the likes of Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal both having been on the sidelines for a significant time.
Unai Emery will likely look to improve his backline in the summer, as it still remains an area of the pitch that provides some concerns at times.
The defence has been a problem for Arsenal and Emery this season and the Argentina international could be the perfect addition for the Gunners to make.
As ESPN elude to, Tagliafico could thrive in the Premier League as he has the aggression and athleticism that could help him to adapt to England’s top-flight.
However, they also mention that a possible move to Spain could appeal more with language and cultural reasons being obvious, whilst he may prefer to turn out for one of the La Liga giants.
Emery must address the defence in the summer and Tagliafico could go some way into helping them improve immediately at the back.
